the one problem with mallard (mine anyways, little Sheets!) is they are a WILD duck, whether hatchery raised or not, mine were hard little buggers to tame, and even now at a year old next month, they still arn't "tame", they come up to me, when I'm not mad at someone in the pen, and they know it!, but in terms of handling, nooo way jack!
then again, I can't really touch any of my ducks, because they all grow to hate me after a while, not sure why
