I will take another picture of Beauregard this afternoon. He is doing his juvenile molt and turning grey. I wonder if he will get the green head.

Well both the blues are hens but the dark brown one is a Rouen mix. But a blue duck with a green head would be pretty cool.

Here is Beauregard 3 weeks later ,
I tried to get him outside in the sun but he was still squirrelly after yesterday's rape festival so I had to get him in. He is now more grey than brown except for his head. How's Solo?

He is looking nice! Kinda built somewhere between rouen and runner he seems?

Solo is good thank you! Love how ducks grow so much faster than chickens...he is now bigger than the chicks and definitely built like a runner. And has now begun the "let's make everything wet" drinking.

I noticed all mine looked very runner in the beginning. See my avatar. That's Barbra Lewis, one of the Blue hens. That's her in back in the thumbnail. About 5 weeks they began to tip over. Except the KC cross who is pretty upright.

Here is one of my blue runner babies come to cuddle after bath time. Speaking of runners, I read the funniest analogy in describing them in an article. Were described as "look like bowling pins with anxiety."

@Magnolia Ducks how is the next batch candling ? The ones they guy got from me to hatch during the county fair did well. 8 out of the dozen. He called and asked if I wanted any and I said no. Then he told me he had people lined up wanting them when the fair was over.

Did he get any blue pekins? All 7 eggs are still alive and developing. We are 18 days away.
