That is a cute little baby, no doubt. I personally only see maybe what looks like a ring around the neck? Only the male Rouen have a ring, so it could be a male.

Looks like a male to me, not sure tho. Do you want pics of my Rouen female later today?
she looks female on a vent check, what through me off was the feathers, these are her first set and they were all curly but the ring on her neck isn't white its yellow, she's got no white actually. and i would love to see your babies! as for your question, she makes peep peeps but also longer peeplies when she's super happy. she barely is in the pen so she's always clicking her beak or making distress pips. i have no clue what her age is 100%

she is a spoiled girl. i couldn't get her a friend, so she's been double babied to help any anxiety or depression.. i even went out and baught the mini squishmellows just so she had them with her while i was away for any reason. I make sure she's eating well too so she's a happy duckie. when i vent check her she looks female, they never label the ducks, i'm wondering if maybe she's a mix? all the rings i see are white and her downie feathers are all a pretty gold and brown color, no white to be seen, not even on her new feathers she's getting on her wings. she also has the wing shape you look for but i'm not sure.. won't matter anyways, still going to be a super spoiled baby lol

I don't have any rouens, but I do have mixed breed hens similar looking to rouens with white rings around their necks. I've always heard that vent sexing ducks is not only difficult, but can easily cause injury. I have not tried it. A little patience will reveal if it is male or female as rouen males get darker heads and a females voice will start changing soon.

If that is how you got it, it could actually be a Silver Appleyard, which then it is possible to have that ring and be a female. We have one now that we got from the assortment tub as that is all they ever have at our local store also. We took one look and it looked just like a Rouen, however it developed the ring, which was confusing as it started quacking, until that point we were convinced she was a he lol. She even other than her ring looked like a Rouen when she got her juvenile feathers, besides she also seemed to have a more whitish bib than any pictures of Rouen. We actually got some Rouen females from a hatchery now. They are in adult feathers, and their design is almost identical, but she is a totally lighter brown than them. I had posted a picture asking what she was, and if it was possible she was a Rouen. I was informed she looked like the Silver Appleyard and sure enough she does. It was harder to find, but after being told that I looked into that breed. If you look on Metzer's website at their Silver Appleyard, they have two colors of ducklings showing. One that looks identical to Rouen, at least to me, and the why they are by standard suppose to look. I have attached some images of her, and also what one of our actual Rouen looked like as a duckling, and now, the Rouen duckling is the one in the hand.
