fuzzi's Chicken Journal

You're getting quite a bit of snow @fuzzi I wonder how @lightm is doing in Wilmington!

We got around 6" (on top of the ice that was still here:rolleyes: ). Tonight the wind is gusting and it's around 9F, wind chill -11F, so make it through tonight and tomorrow, things will be looking better, temperature wise anyway:)

Hope everyone stays safe and warm!

Still snowing...

Look at the top of the trash can, just beyond my car.

Thank you.

I'm thinking about my chicks...

Well you built a good sturdy pen that should be able to take the load. But as soon as you get the chance I would rake off some of the snow from the top so that you don't have a dangerous collapse. The snow will actually insulate the coop and make it warmer and less drafty.

I hope everyone in Fuzzi and Friends Land is doing well this morning!

It was 7F this morning and the wind is gusting, hopefully it will die down in a few hours. The chickens (and Pigeon) all survived the night, the sun is shining, we have hot coffee, water, electricity and the wood stove is keeping our home warm.
So many things to be thankful for!

It's risen to a balmy 16 here, and snowing again. We got 8" yesterday but today's snow seems light and shouldn't add much. I covered the open part of the run's roof with a tarp, scooped out more snow this morning and brought in a big bag of leaves I collected from the creek bed this fall, so they are doing okay. Complaining about not being able to go out, though. And yes, so very much to be thankful for!
