rouens vs. mallards?

i think i got mallards from my feed store because they had a stripe and a dot but after reading some post on here i'm starting to think that they are rouens! if they are rouens, will they still fly? also what are the other differences between them?

Rouens are flightless 'cousins' to the Mallard. they do not fly.
easy temperament, not aggressive. we love ours.

I just got some babies from TSC and they said they were mallard not rouens,,I dont know at that age you can tell...I looked up pics of both on the web and they look alike I knoe mallards are smaller in size but I have nothing to compare them too..They are a tiny they are 2 weeks and sit in my palm...Here a pic not to good because of the red lamp..they look way bigger than they are...

Judging by the pic, you have baby mallards! But, there are always is the chance of them being Rouens, but I would certainly say mallards.

my rouens look just like that when they were young they are 5 weeks now and getting ready to go outside...

you will know when they grow up

rouen average 6-10 pounds
and mallards average 2-4 pounds

the size is the big difference

The biggest difference between rouens and mallards is their size, but also the rouens will have 2 full stripes by their eyes as babies, and the mallards will have one.
