A couple of my hens have layed a few eggs with rough bumps on them and yesterday there was a little smear of blood on the rough part. Is there something I should change for them? It's been a couple of eggs from two hens out of 12. I don't give them any calcium or oyster shells i just feed them their own crushed egg shell back which they seem to love to eat. Should I stop for a bit? I will mention both girls only resumed laying after winter about 4 weeks ago.

How old are the birds?
What and how exactly are you feeding?

They are around 18 months. They stopped laying ovet winter then started again a bit over a month ago.
I feed them this in a dispenser at all times and their crushed baked shells.
Plus some cooked egg and veges and oats or wheat sometimes.
They also eat a lot of forage freeranging 2-8 hrs per day depending on how much time I can supervise. I like top pop outside half hourly to check on them.
I will get oyster shell but isn't the rough she'll too much calcium?

I don't know what breed they are but they are black bantams with a green Sheen to them and single red comb.
