Planning to build our first coop very soon and getting ideas together for materials and such. Plan to have a board and batten exterior, and have found some very nice and economical wood to use at Home Depot. The exterior will be primed and painted so wood will be protected. This wood is marked "Fir or Spruce "
Is there any reason this wood wouldn't be suitable or a bad idea? The price is right, the wood looks great. I understand it isn't as weather proof as cedar, but again it will be sealed on the exterior and painted..
