Roul rouls

I would say no smaller then 6 wide x 6 long for a pair. The bigger the better.

Also I dont really understand you second question ?? Do you mean "what do I mean" or "what do they need" ??

Really what do people mean when they say an indoor pen/cage/enclosure for roul rouls because i have heard that on sites before and like what do they mean i guess buy indoor like in a barn or something or like in their home like a bird cage or some thing or do they mean like just covered well sheltered enclosure also what kind of birds do you think would be best to have expirence with before these like maybe other partridges softbills etc. Ecause i have had expirence with mousebirds

O.k ,I get what your saying

So idea housing would be a large outside run attached to a large insulated and heated shed. The birds would have free run of the shed and run during the summer ,and come winter/fall you would lock them up in the shed for the winter. It would have to be a larger shed.

Also mousebirds arent very close at all to roul-roul

I would try chukar partridge first. Get the hang of those first.

Then its up to you on how ready you feel and how prepared you are.

Just to add, they can get sick easily, and are best kept away from other birds. I've found they do best in a greenhouse environment well planted for them to hide in and build nests. Blob is right, they're near impossible to hand rear, and do best raised by the parents. Though I have had success with meal worms. It's very hard to get the chicks to eat by yourself, live meal worms help alot. Prices have gone up on them much in the last few yrs. Last ones I saw were around $500-$600/pr. I havent kept them in several years.

Ditto on everything you posted!! I had a lone hen for years (super sweet girl at that). Finally my wife at the time allowed me to shell out the $350 for a male. Within days of his arrival, she began to lay eggs (they were in an indoor aviaries side-by-side and it was late November). Sadly, after about a week, the male began to look rough. I took him to one of the vets in the KC area that has had experience with exotics, he found the bird was full of coccida and had been so for several weeks (I had him 9 days) and the stress of the move added to the problem. After $100 worth of treatment, the bird never recovered. It was awful and I have since became super gun shy at throwing out that kind of cash on birds and it's been 8 years. The seller told me that it was my fault which added to the mess even though the vet after the necropsy confirmed that is was not. Expensive loss!!!

Haven't updated in a while, but here's our page on them http://www.gbwf.org/francolin/roul.html
