What medication do you want to use?

Dosage for Safeguard liquid goat wormer is 0.23ml per pound given orally for 5 days straight.
Dosage for Valbazen is 1/2ml given orally, then repeat dosing in 10 days.

Thank you so much ! I’m looking into the best place to buy now. I’ll need to do some reading on giving medication orally too. I remember reading something before about not wanting to get product into their lungs. Luckily all my chickens are easy to pickup, except one ( my large Barnevelder is so timid ). May be best to do while roosting ...

I’m looking into both right now; figure out cost and best place to buy. My vet had recommended to use Ivermectin pour on, but I’m learning that isn’t the best option for poultry. Thank you all for your help and advice !

There's a thread here about fenbendazole, which I can't seem to find right now, with dosages. many people but the Safegard wormer, available at the feed stores, or Panacur.
I'd rather use ivermectin too, it's easier, but would use fenbendazole instead now.
The FARAD.org website has information about approved drugs and not approved drugs for livestock; look at the bottom of the home page for species specific information. They 'improved' the site and it's more complicated, sadly.

Yes, wait until everyone's roosting at night, and go out with a small flashlight, or a head lamp, and do each right off the roost.
It is easiest with two people, but can be done alone.

It's not difficult to give oral meds, just be cautious about having the bird swallow, and go slow as you see how each bird handles it. Nobody will be pleased, but it's doable.
