Roundworms/coop confinement

So I’ve had trouble two times in the past with roundworms so bad I quit chickens for 2 years. I’m ready to start again-coop is has been bleached down several times. However I believe my ground is basically contaminated. I hate to coop away chicks but I can not go through it again. So question is-how bad is it to never let chickens touch the ground? The coop is quite spacious, perches, dust, and all honestly they’re spoiled. But I can not do runs/rotate at the moment. Not with such bad experiences in the past. I’ll choose correct breeds for confinement, just looking for tips.
coop has 3 windows will look at adding skylight for more light.

Chickens really need to be on the ground in my opinion. Doesn't worm medication treat roundworms?

Large roundworms have a direct lifecycle and are picked up off the soil. Scooping up feces frequently helps deter infections, adding sand to your pen/run deters parasites and helps keep everything dry. Keeping everything dry as possible is key with worm prevention.
You can raise your birds up on wire if you wish.

I can relate with you, it's the soil conditions. I worm my birds monthly. As a matter of fact my birds are due to be wormed in a few days.
Generally there's a 14 day withdrawal period after worming. We eat the eggs after worming, still here typing. The residue in eggs is slight. However if you or a family member think a reaction might occur, by all means toss the eggs in the garbage and dont sell or give any away eggs to be eaten.
Some of the wormers I use are Valbazen, Safeguard and Pyrantel Pamoate. I'm worming my birds with Levamisole in a few days.
