Royal Palm Breast Meat?

I butchered 1 RP and 1 Spanish for Thanksgiving, it looked like the RP's breast meat was in a V shape, was this just him or is their meat placed differently?

That is how RP's look. How old was it?

That's the way they are and the reason the RP was never really used a meat bird. They do have a very good flavor though.

I cooked a Royal Palm this year as well. It was my first RP, and I was actually pleased with how much meat there was on it. Earlier this summer Steve wrote about their V-shape and I didn't understand what he meant. I do now. But the meat was very good. We also cooked up a St Bronze hen. This one was slightly overcooked (oops). Of the two, I preferred the palm, but I don't know if it was because of the breed or because the bronze was a little too done.
