Royal Palm question

Do males start to get black on wings much sooner than the females, even in the first after hatching? I am feeding them gamebird starter 28%, will they grow at a much faster rate then my chickens? Any info would great.

I hatched 6 RP x Calico Sweetgrass "mutt" crosses last year. Some got color sooner than others, but it didn't seem to have any correlation to gender. Instead, it correlated to the ultimate color pattern of the bird -- the ones that eventually had the most brown and black were the ones that colored first and most. They all some some brown and black, but it varies a lot from one that is mostly white with a little color to one that is mostly dark with not too much white.
