Is the royal palm in the front of the pictures a hen or a Tom? We bought him as a Tom but we are unsure. He hasn’t start puffing out.

Need to know the age but it could be a late blooming tom or a bearded hen. Looks like a bearded hen to me.

Also, neither of the birds pictured is a Royal Palm.

Royal Palms are only black and white. The brown on them disqualifies them as Royal Palms.

What age do hens grow beards? I have a ~5 month old "hen" with a short beard just like that. Should I be concerned?

They can grow beards as young as the toms do.
