Mine was egg bound and died of the same thing yesterday. On Wednesday, we noticed that she was exibiting signs of being egg bound. We did the usual things--- set her in warm water, put mineral oil right inside the vent and put steam underneath her. Nothing happened! Ok, so my husband put some mineral oil on his pinkie and went in. He said he couldn't feel an egg but it felt like a rubber ball. We thought it was a tumor or something. We put her on antibiotics but she continued to get worse. Yesterday she died, and when my husband posted her, she had a substance" that felt like a soft boiled egg without a shell. When ge took an xray on her before she passed, you could see specs of calcium, but clearly no egg. I would love to know what caused this, and if there is a way to prevent it.
