Hi, I'm quite new to this site & owning chickens so I apologise if this is posted in the wrong place :-/. I have 2 x warrens gladis and Elsey, both laying brilliantly, I get 2 beautiful eggs everyday, however gladis is moulting and gave me 2 rubber eggs this evening, is this normal? Thanks in advance :-D

I don't know how old your birds are but my understanding is that newer layers tend to have to work out some kinks in thier systems. I'm not sure if molting has anything to do with it. You can try giving them some ground oyster shell which should be at your local Agway, Tractor Supply or feed store for pretty cheap. I have got some rubbery eggs and it gets back to normal the next day or the day after. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Brilliant thank you, birds are only young not quite sure on excite age, ill get some oyster shell first thing and give that a whirl and keep an eye on them. Thanks again

Hay it's been 24 hours and everything seems a-ok!! Happy hens & happy Hannah
