Good afternoon,

So our flock of 16 Khaki Campbells are growing quickly! They are 4 weeks old now and its been fun watching them grow. My question is with regard to them rubbing behind their eyes with their feet while swimming. I've read many posts about them rubbing their oil glands with their bill but haven't seen anything about rubbing behind their eyes with their feet while swimming. All are healthy and growing normally. Please forgive me if this question is something that should be common knowledge, this is our first time raising ducklings.

My kahki does that daily, My pekin doesnt

other ducks ive had did and some didnt

What i would check is there eyes, Make sure they arent red and bloodshot or weeping. Check the eye lid and surrounding for lice

Ide also check around their ears, behind their eye is a hole, ill try and find a picture i posted last year

And if they are young they will have itchy scratchy sore pin feathers all over

My healthy kahki from last year, i wet the feathers around the ear to find it easier
