Ruby the RIR

Ruby is the smallest pullet in the flock. She was given to me at 4 weeks old and I have raised her now to 10 weeks. She free ranges with the rest of the flock. Today I got home from work and got my 2 gallon bucket and threw some scratch feed in it and walked out the garage door.

Ruby snuck up behind me and flew up to my shoulder. Scared the mess outa me! So I got some scratch and let her eat from my hand while sitting on my arm.

I'm telling ya. This girl is my favorite of all the girls. She loves to be picked up but this is the first time she ever flew up like that.

One of my hens Fatima was out in the snow yesterday and flew up on me for a free ride out of the nasty wet white stuff

She's so funny.
I got her and her two brothers when they were 4 weeks old. She has been in a pen with those two waiting until they stop peeping so that I can mix them in with the flock.
I sold the two roos Friday and put her in with two BOs Friday night.
Then I let her out with the big girls Saturday.
She is one tuff cookie.
I caught her pecking the big girls this afternoon.
I guess raising her with two roos paid off
