For the past week or two, I've noticed my 3 year old Cayuga male duck has had ruffled neck feathers. I thought it would go back to normal but it has been like this for awhile.

Is this normal, or is it a sign that he could be sick?

That's a pretty bird even if he's having a bad hair week. Some one else is gonna have to solve this mystery, it's beyond my scope of expertise. good luck

He said thanks for the compliment! :) Appreciate you trying to help!

I know that in chickens (mostly roosters) it’s the first steps towards trying to take over as head male in charge. If he is approaching sexual maturity that would be my guess... a display of his “muscle” and the first step towards trying to be intimidating.
