Rumpless Cochin??

I finally heard back from the breeder & he is a Cochin/Ruympless Araucana Mix! i'm glad i know now, i can seperate him away from the cochin girls. thanks everyone!

looks like a cochin to me. The males take a long time to fill out especially in the cushion area. It sometimes almost takes a year before they are filled out all the way.

It's not that big of a deal for me anyhow. I think he'll just go in with the 2 silkie/cochins that i got from the same breeder. she gave me a bunch of babies at once, she wanted to "clean up" before seperating everyone again.

I also have an 'adopted' frizzle mix hen he can hang out with too...shes an old lady, narcoleptic too i think, but she's good company & a good adoptive momma.

Wow- I wonder if you'd get any blue egg-laying offspring out of him. I'd get back in touch with the breeder and see if she has any aracauna hens to spare

I wish she did!! In the free batch of babies i got from her i got the cutest little tufted rumpless baby! but shortly after i got it it passed away, i'm still not sure why.

it was purebred, but she looked it over and decided it wasnt show quality, i also still have a serama roo from her, he wasnt the color she was breeding for so she didnt want to keep him.

she had a bad case of Fowl Pox earlier this year and lost about 7 of her chickens. shes a vet also so she got it all cleared up and saved the rest of her birds, but she didnt have a large amount to begin with, i think she had them almost as trios, the different breeds.
