Here is a picture of where we will be putting our run. To the left of this shed/coop. I will dig out a few plants that are there, but what to do with rest?
Do we leave it as is and let chickens at it?
Do we mow it down?
Or do we rototill the whole thing for fresh dirt for chickens?

THANKS for any input.

I'd leave it exactly as is....the chickens will love to eat most of that, you can roto it later and reseed if you want, but they'll prob have it bare in no time flat...I let mine grow high, chicks can hide from bop that way

THANK YOU so much for replies.
Sometimes what you think is best....needs to be back up by those with more experience.

I built my run in a area much thicker than that and within a week they had it almost bare. They will love it. I still have small trees growing inside my run but they have stripped all the leaves off that they could reach. Then they will stand and stare at the leaves up high and jump up and grab them. Fun to watch them.
