Hi all,
We just finished our run for our new spring chickens (4' x 42'). Although I've read a number of posts regarding run flooring options, I still am unsure of what to use.
I have ruled out sand for now, but want to put more down than just the current dirt, mainly to make it more interesting for the ladies, and also for drainage in the fall (no solid roof yet).

I fluffed up a good layer of the dirt already and have limed the whole thing. So now what to put on top?

We did buy "walk-on" bark (fir) from a local place, but after it was delivered, I thought it might look too splintery?? so haven't put it down.
Otherwise I was considering trying the free chip drop, but don't have time to dry out anything at this late stage.

Thanks!
