(Perfect song from Garron's perspective! But http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=0dYlvdLdK9w is perfect for both...mainly Piper though.)

Piper stood there, her nose trying to Decker who was there. The scent was clouded...as if whoever carried it had rolled in the mud and fell in the river. She took a few steps forward, trying to look brave. "Who's there!" She demanded in a fear filled whisper.

She tried to catch the smell again...

Piper mad a gurgling gasp and stumbled back. "G...Garron? " she cried her voice cracking.

Garron's unmistakeable eyes seemed to glow in the shadowy depths of the forest. His eyes were drowned in unimaginable sorrow, but there was no response from him. Instead, he tucked his tail, drooped his ears, and started to back away.

Piper saw him start to leave and scrambled forward, stumbling over the dead deer in her haste. "No...Garron please! Please."

Her voice became louder as she came closer, "I don't want to lose you again...I couldn't bear it. Ill die!" And looking at her, there was no doubt that what she said was true.

Garron looked over his shoulder with haste; he looked like a scared creature that was cornered. He halted when he heard what Piper said next, and for a few seconds he didn't know how to reply. "Come with me, Piper." His hiss was a borderline desperate plea. "I can't go back. But I need you."

Piper came over hesitantly, her ears pinned. "Garron..."

A thrill of hope rushed through her...She could leave and be with Garron. He wAnted her...needed her! For a moment nothing else really mattered.

But she remembered what she had done on the pack hunt...Scar's sad face...

Her mind was struggling so much with her heart she sat down, her paws over her eyes, trying g to make sense of it all.

"Garron, I want to go with you...I want to so badly! I have wanted to since you left and I failed to go after you. But if I left with you now Scar would come after me...He would kill us both as traitors, Garron. I could not bear watching you die, knowing it was my fault!"

A sob wracked her body, "I just don't know what to do!"

Garron himself wasn't sure what he could do. He couldn't go back to Pinepack; neither did Piper want to, but she had to. "Why don't you just rub off your scent in the river and mud like I did when I left?"
Piper looked up at him, hope in her eyes...then fear.
"You're scent is not all gone, Garron and it has been a week! I could tell it was you...surely Scar would find me. You know he would...he loves me to much to let me go." It was all she could do to stop herself from running to him, feel his pelt brush against hers as they ran and hide, leaving all their problems behind them. She wouldn't have to worry about proving herself. Worry about never having someone that could understand her. Worry about...
But if she left now, she would never stop worrying...
They would always be running...looking over their shoulders. Waiting for Scar to turn up and take her back.
Piper got up shakily and padded closer."But...perhaps if I could prove myself to Scar...that I can take care of myself, be a helpful member of the pack...he would not be so angry when I leave. And I do want to leave...there is nothing for me in Pinepack with you gone. The rest see me as the clumsy fool I am...but I have been trying to change that." she motioned back to the deer.
When she looked back she did something that surprised her. She touched her nose to his and said, "Will you visit me, Garron?" her voice was so soft she could barely hear it, a single tear falling from her hope-filled eyes.
"We can meet here, in loner land...Scar would never know. The truth is, I don't know how I can continue without you...I...just can't..."
Garron wanted to say, Yes... But he wasn't sure if he could. What if they were caught? Now that he was a loner, Garron had nowhere to run to if he was attacked by Scar. Yet, despite what his common sense was screaming for him to do, he obliged to Piper. "...y-yes. I will."

Quote: A frightening snarl ripped from the left of Fern, and seconds later Ebony launched his whole 110 pounds at the she-wolf. His bright white teeth snapped dangerously near her face as he took her down.

Fern was bowled over and landed hard, Ebony landing on top of her. She heard the menacing crack of some of her ribs. She kicked out to the wolf, a snarl or rage upon her maw as it snapped down on his ear as she tried to dislodge him and win back her pup.

Klash was still standing near Misa. He saw Akira run into their territory with a pup in her mouth and a she-wolf behind her. "I'll be back." He snarled at Misa and ran towards the she-wolf. Before he could reach her, Ebony had already tackled her down. Klash launched himself forward and with a viscious growl he threw himself against the she-wolf and grabbed her around the neck with his teeth. "Stay down, or you'll regret it." He snarled at her.

Piper smiled for real since her friend had left the pack. "Thank you...I won't let you down this time." she looked deep into his eyes with gratitude and love. With those simple words from Garron, she felt her strength and determination returning to her. She knew she wouldn't be afraid with Garron was with her. She nuzzled him one last time and then turned to try and drag the deer back. She paused, started to say something, then shook her head in hesitancy. What could she say? Nothing to make things better for Garron. At least she still had a den to go to every night and the protection of a pack. She wanted to tell him how sorry she was...how full of sadness...that she had helped put him in this situation. But there were no words that meant it enough to say...

"GET AWAY FROM HER!"

Stone roared with the fury of a fierce blizzard as he came surging out of the woods. He threw himself at Ebony in a flurry of snapping jaws. Lark flanked him, and she split away as he lunged for Ebony; instead, a snarl ripped up from her throat, and she launched herself at Klash.

Quote:
Fern writhed in their grasp but it was becoming hard to breath. Searing pain flashed up her side and in her lungs. She hopped that the broken ribs had not done to much internal damage.
Fern flung her paws out and slammed Klash in the chest in a desperate effort to rid herself of their weight. In her anger she was stronger than she normally would be, her rage driving her forward when she thought only of her pup's safety, forgetting her pain. Not aware of the situation she was really in. Almost mad with grief and anger, she was not aware at how injured she really was.

Stone's roar had alerted Ebony of the wolf's presence, and just as the he-wolf lunged, Ebony threw himself out of the way and twisted around to snap at his face as he went.

Ebony's jaws closed on open air as Stone crashed to the ground. He grunted as he landed on his paws wrong, and shock from the force of the landing rippled through them. But that didn't stop him; in a borderline mad rage to protect his mate, the adrenaline surging through his blood caused him to feel next to no pain. He flung himself at Ebony again, and punched out his paws while snapping his jaws together.

Yes, Lark's attacking Klash and Stone's fighting Ebony
