~Run With The Pack~ A Wolf Roleplay

"Takes a lot of strength to attack an immobilized wolf, huh," she jeered. After the jeer, her mocking attitude vanished, leaving a highly skilled, dangerous alpha behind. With lightning speed she surged forwards and punched out her paws in an attempt to sweep Klash's legs out from under him.

Klash hit the ground, hard. He barked loudly and kicked at Lark. He laughed at her. "You don't scare me she-wolf." He spit the last two words out like they were venom.

Lark forced herself to not flinch as Klash's claws scraped down her leg. "I didn't expect you to be," she replied calmly, and snapped her jaws at his muzzle.

Akira had taken the pup to her den, and she had set him down inside while she waited for Kodiak or Atra to show up. "You are gonna grow up to be a strong Darkpack member," she growled.

Titan glared at the strange she-wolf and barked, "Where is my mommy?"

Garron's unmistakeable eyes seemed to glow in the shadowy depths of the forest. His eyes were drowned in unimaginable sorrow, but there was no response from him. Instead, he tucked his tail, drooped his ears, and started to back away.

Piper saw him start to leave and scrambled forward, stumbling over the dead deer in her haste. "No...Garron please! Please."

Her voice became louder as she came closer, "I don't want to lose you again...I couldn't bear it. Ill die!" And looking at her, there was no doubt that what she said was true.

Garron looked over his shoulder with haste; he looked like a scared creature that was cornered. He halted when he heard what Piper said next, and for a few seconds he didn't know how to reply. "Come with me, Piper." His hiss was a borderline desperate plea. "I can't go back. But I need you."

Piper came over hesitantly, her ears pinned. "Garron..."

A thrill of hope rushed through her...She could leave and be with Garron. He wAnted her...needed her! For a moment nothing else really mattered.

But she remembered what she had done on the pack hunt...Scar's sad face...

Her mind was struggling so much with her heart she sat down, her paws over her eyes, trying g to make sense of it all.

"Garron, I want to go with you...I want to so badly! I have wanted to since you left and I failed to go after you. But if I left with you now Scar would come after me...He would kill us both as traitors, Garron. I could not bear watching you die, knowing it was my fault!"

A sob wracked her body, "I just don't know what to do!"

Garron himself wasn't sure what he could do. He couldn't go back to Pinepack; neither did Piper want to, but she had to. "Why don't you just rub off your scent in the river and mud like I did when I left?"

Piper looked up at him, hope in her eyes...then fear.
"You're scent is not all gone, Garron and it has been a week! I could tell it was you...surely Scar would find me. You know he would...he loves me to much to let me go." It was all she could do to stop herself from running to him, feel his pelt brush against hers as they ran and hide, leaving all their problems behind them. She wouldn't have to worry about proving herself. Worry about never having someone that could understand her. Worry about...
But if she left now, she would never stop worrying...
They would always be running...looking over their shoulders. Waiting for Scar to turn up and take her back.
Piper got up shakily and padded closer."But...perhaps if I could prove myself to Scar...that I can take care of myself, be a helpful member of the pack...he would not be so angry when I leave. And I do want to leave...there is nothing for me in Pinepack with you gone. The rest see me as the clumsy fool I am...but I have been trying to change that." she motioned back to the deer.
When she looked back she did something that surprised her. She touched her nose to his and said, "Will you visit me, Garron?" her voice was so soft she could barely hear it, a single tear falling from her hope-filled eyes.
"We can meet here, in loner land...Scar would never know. The truth is, I don't know how I can continue without you...I...just can't..."
Garron wanted to say, Yes... But he wasn't sure if he could. What if they were caught? Now that he was a loner, Garron had nowhere to run to if he was attacked by Scar. Yet, despite what his common sense was screaming for him to do, he obliged to Piper. "...y-yes. I will."

Piper smiled for real since her friend had left the pack. "Thank you...I won't let you down this time." she looked deep into his eyes with gratitude and love. With those simple words from Garron, she felt her strength and determination returning to her. She knew she wouldn't be afraid with Garron was with her. She nuzzled him one last time and then turned to try and drag the deer back. She paused, started to say something, then shook her head in hesitancy. What could she say? Nothing to make things better for Garron. At least she still had a den to go to every night and the protection of a pack. She wanted to tell him how sorry she was...how full of sadness...that she had helped put him in this situation. But there were no words that meant it enough to say...

Lark forced herself to not flinch as Klash's claws scraped down her leg. "I didn't expect you to be," she replied calmly, and snapped her jaws at his muzzle.
Klash snarled and pushed her away from him. He barked out an evil laugh. "You are nothing against a Darkpack wolf. Your strength is nothing compared to the wolves born and raised in these parts."

(Perfect song from Garron's perspective! But http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=0dYlvdLdK9w is perfect for both...mainly Piper though.)

Piper stood there, her nose trying to Decker who was there. The scent was clouded...as if whoever carried it had rolled in the mud and fell in the river. She took a few steps forward, trying to look brave. "Who's there!" She demanded in a fear filled whisper.

She tried to catch the smell again...

Piper mad a gurgling gasp and stumbled back. "G...Garron? " she cried her voice cracking.

Garron's unmistakeable eyes seemed to glow in the shadowy depths of the forest. His eyes were drowned in unimaginable sorrow, but there was no response from him. Instead, he tucked his tail, drooped his ears, and started to back away.

As Piper started to drag the deer away, Garron retreated back into the shadows. He paused and glanced back at her one last time, and he, too, felt that there was something he needed to say, but he couldn't figure out what it was. With a sigh, he padded through the forests of the loner lands, eager to put as much distance between him and Pinepack as he could.

Lark's laugh was hollow. "And I'm guessing the only way you can show this so called strength is with empty threats and trash talk?" Her tone was as dry as a desert; she sounded almost bored, and in a way, she was. "If you're so strong, prove it to me in battle." She punched out her paws and lunged for Klash again, slashing her fangs at his ear.

Klash snarled as Larks fangs dug into his already torn up ear. He shoved his shoulder against her to push her away. "Trust me, you don't want to battle me. It won't end well for you." He said as he walked slowly around her. He showed his teeth in an evil snarl and lunged at her, sinking his teeth into the skin of her neck.

(I can't help but feel a deep sense of guilt and sadness for writing all this out...but it sure is satisfying!)

It took a long time for Piper to drag the deer back to Pinepack densite. Her brother was waiting for her, sitting in the middle of the clearing. He nodded in approval at Piper's catch, a half smile on his face. "Good work! I told you that you could do it!"
Piper smiled weakly back and nuzzled him fondly. Despite him keeping Garron away and pushing her so hard, he really was kind to her.
He nuzzled her back, "You look dead on your feet. Better grab a small bite and hit the hay. Tomorrow you can have a small break after the morning pack hunt. It'll be good for you to get out and explore the territory. A good hunter always knows the land."
Piper nodded and went right to her den. She wasn't hungry. It felt like her insides were exploding in happiness and sorrow mixed together. She closed her eyes and was almost instantly asleep...dreaming of Garron who was far away.
