Cody's eyes were dull as he looked back up at her. He gazed at her for a second, before he looked back at the water rushing below his paws.
Fyra sighed and nudged his shoulder with hers in a greeting way before dipping her muzzle in the water, distorting her reflection. "I'm sorry," she whispered. "I don't know what I did, but I'm sorry. For everything."

"No, I'm sorry, Fy." Cody sighed, and then he blinked. Where did the nickname come from? He decided that the best idea was to brush it off. "You had no idea." He smacked himself mentally. You know you're just making her feel worse, you idiot. "I'm sorry. It's just... When you said that thing about having a sister it... Just kind of set me off, I guess."
"I'd barely call her a sister," Fyra replied, hanging her head, saying nothing about about the nickname.

Cody looked down at his paws. A second later, he looked back up at her, and his eyes were so intense that they were difficult to stare back into. "Fyra, i should never have yelled at you." He felt anxiety tingling in his paws. It felt wrong to...to... love someone other than Willow... but she would want him to move on... Wouldn't she?

"Fyra, i just... i love you." He brushed his muzzle through her fur.
Fyra's eyes widened. Cody... loved her?! A massive smile danced over her muzzle and her heart soared high above the mountaintops.

Suddenly, it came plummeting down as her happiness was interrupted by an ugly thought: Was Cody running from his past with Willow?

Cody bit his lip as he looked down at his paws, and he heaved a sigh. "She'll always hold a special place in my heart, and I'll love her until the day i die. But she woudnt want me to grieve for my whole life, Fy. She'd want me to move on."

Fyra could barely answer and instead blurted out a choked-sounding "Willow..." as she saw no other way to put her mixed feelings in words.
Fyra nodded her head. She understood. Now she just had to wait for him to ask...
Cody closed his eyes. His mind flashed back to Willow... oh, he'd never forget her snow white pelt. He wished so much that he had been able to ask her this... the question that he was just about to ask Fyra...

He looked up at the sky with a longing gaze. She's not you, Willow... but she gives me so much. I hope this is okay with you... and remember that i will alwys, always love you."

He sighed again, and he looked back at Fyra. Anxiety... as well as love.... tingled in his paws. "Will you be my mate, Fyra?"
(( Let the giggle fest begin! ))

A small smile appeared on Fyra's maw, widening until it touched her yellow eyes. "Yes, Cody," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Yes, yes, I love you, Cody! Race you back to the dens!" With that, she took off, howling her joy.

(( I need Kodiak or Atra so I can get Echo into Darkpack and begin my plans. ))
A grin crept up at the corners of Cody's maw. "I can beat ya any day of the week!" he called as he sprinted after her. He made it to her side and let out a joyous howl. He looked back at Fyra, grinning. He realized that he hadn't been so happy since he'd been with Willow.

Senkah cleaned the blood out of Duke's coat and weaves cobwebs over his wounds. Her eyes were narrowed to pale blue slits, and a deadly silence radiated off of her pelt. The wolves of Stonepack knew to steer clear; although she did have a bit of a temper, It was rare for Senkah to get this angry. But when she did, well... The wolves that were the objects of her anger didn't live.

"Darkpack is responsible for this," she growled almost inaudibly to herself. "And they will pay for nearly costing Duke his life." Her claws slid out, and gouged clumps out of the hard mud below her paws. Her eyes blazed like tiny orbs of blue fire.
