Ebony groaned. He tried to get to his feet, but fell back down again. The world was growing fuzzy, and he blinked to keep his eyes open. His head throbbed, and his stomach lurched.

Lupus grew antsy to get back to jasmine and the pack.

Jasmine ran around looking for Lupus. He ran to the lake and howled for him. She stood close to the lake.

Lupus could hear Jasmine's howl. He threw his head back and answered her.

Sierra saw a flash of his tail as he raced away.  She decided to follow, and loped behind him.  She lost sight of him, but followed his scent.  She suddenly heard a yelp.  "West?!" She howled.  She charged ahead.  Suddenly she saw the ridge and tried to stop, but she slid n the pebbles under her paws, and scrabbled to keep from falling.  "West!" She yelped.  She flailed her back legs, but started to lose her grip on the edge of the ridge.  Her claws scraped the ground, and she fell into the river.  She was swept below the surface, and hit her head hard on a rock.  She saw stars, and froze. She was knocked against another rock, and paddled to what she thought was the surface.  Water shot up her nose, and she panicked.  Swimming hard she finally reached the top, and suddenly saw a grey figure on the shore of the river.  "West!" She gurgled. 

West stumbled and tried to gain his balance. He shook his head and dove into the river. He swam powerfully for Sierra, grabbing her by the scruff. He looked around and paddled with all his might to a rock in the middle of the river. The current was for him, an eddy formed behind the rock allowed for a easy place to haul himself up. He dragged Sierra up behind him. His legs shook from exhaustion, he panted heavily. Then the world faded to black and he collasped.

Aki looked at Mari. "We should be getting home." He said, then paused, his voice suddenly husky with emotion "are you going home?"

Sierra lay still. Her eyes closed, and tongue out. Suddenly she sputtered, and coughed up water. She gasped for air, and flailed feebly with her paws. Then she stopped, closed her eyes, "West" She rasped.

Aki looked at Mari. "We should be getting home." He said, then paused, his voice suddenly husky with emotion "are you going home?"

Mari stopped, and turned to look at her mate. "Of course." She smiled, but it faded. "Onyx?" She asked quietly, her voice cracking. "Are you coming with us?" Onyx looked at his mother for a moment, then turned and looked at Lupus. His eyes pleaded for instruction.

Jasmine heard his howl and tried to answer, but fell into the frezzing cold lake. She yellped and barked

Lupus looked away "Stay..... Go.... I don't care, but what about Silver." He said trying to act like he didn't care. Suddenly he heard jasmine's yelp. "Jasmine?" He said his voice filling with fear. He looked at onyx and the raced off towards the sound of her cries.
