Echo and Fox waited while Splash ran straight for the small herd, testing the caribou for any weaknesses. He singled out a cow with a bad leg and shouted to Echo and Fox, "Found one!" Both she wolves moved in, snapping and slashing at its coat. Splash struck at the cow's neck but got too close to its hooves and was kicked aside. Echo and Fox worked on getting closer to the front of the animal, targeting its neck like Splash had. "Splash!" she barked, and her mate moved in for the kill....only to be knocked aside again. Echo flew at it, tearing down its neck. Her fangs slipped to its throat and the cow fell.
