(West is almost a year, i was gonna give it a couple days after this battle before i made him a year old)

West slowly moved, belly touching the ground, tail tucked tight beneath and ears flat as they could get. He tried not to draw attention to himself as he made a b-line for the trees.

Aki whined, looking at her wound. He moved around her side, and gently licked the bite, cleaning it. He sat back down, looking at the pack, they were in bad shape. They had won the battle, prevented Darkpack from taking over, but it was a hollow victory, he felt like they had won nothing but pain and heartache. He forced himself to his feet. "Alright." He called out to the whole pack "we need to find food, anyone want to go hunting with me? We need, if possible at least 4 of us to take down a meal big enough for the pack. Anyone?" His voice was calm and rang with authority. He felt a need to be strong, to be a leader, to show the pack everything would be okay.

"Aww how sweet" she crooned. She took the small beetle and trotted into her den, she laid the beetle on a small rock near where she slept. She padded back with a smile, and "kissed"(small lick) sage.
