"One of our pups died." Nike choked. "Ate yew berries. Senkah has taken a hard blow." He turned, not wanting Lightning to see him so heartbroken. "I'm sorry Lightning, you'll have to find someone else."

Aki looked down at Faolen. "Be nice." He said.
Tala walked out slowly, she hid behind her father. Aki gently picked her.
Gray came out of the den growling, Aki looked at kara. "Get that one." He mumbled.
Kara nodded and picked Gray up. "Let go of me!" Gray yowled.
'Sush'' Aki said sternly.
"I can carry one." Safina barked.

West raced through the forest and into the den sight and bolted for their den, he stopped at the entrance. "She's in here."

Faolen yapped defiantly. Mari picked him up, and nudged Summer towards Safina. "Be careful. And Summer, don't fuss." Summer crouched, waiting for Safina to pick her up. She was tired.
Mari looked at Aki and smiled.

A pool of scarlet blood had gathered below Sierra, but her eyes were open. "Dad!" She exclaimed, and smiled feebly.

Faolen yapped defiantly.  Mari picked him up, and nudged Summer towards Safina.  "Be careful.  And Summer, don't fuss." Summer crouched, waiting for Safina to pick her up.  She was tired.
Mari looked at Aki and smiled.

Safina gently picked up summer. Kara turned and jogged towards the dens. Aki followed. He decided he would get the pups settled and then go patrol the border of his new home.
