Safina looked up at Mahala "What are those?" She asked, cocking her head.

"Humans." Mahala growled.

"Get out of here Blizzard." Nike snapped, pushed him away, and lunged at his Father, the two wolves snapping at each other. 

Blizzard rammed himself at Nike. "Stop!" He barked, his tone worried, "He's your father." He tried to wedge himself between the wolves. "We aren't darkpack! Have you forgotten what family means!?" He pleaded with his friend.

Aki laid down the tiny pup in front of Mari. "We're okay." He panted.

Mari licked the pup, as Rain set down the others. The squirmed towards her belly, crying pitifully.

"Humans." Mahala growled.

"O." Safina said, feeling stupid. "We haven't had a run in with humans in a while." She said. "But we don't know, we just woke up one morning and everybody was gone." She looked at the woods. "We searched for days."

"Safina do you think they caused the horrid fire?" Said Mahala.

Nike snarled, a fire of hatred in his voice, "I know what family means! He is a traitor and I will never again call him my father!"
Thunder stared at his son, his body slumped like the old wolf he was.
