Things you wish you could say

That the Creative Brooder Contest wasn't forgotten in a corner, like that stationary bike you bought to "get in shape" but have only used twice because the seat's too hard and life's easier on the couch.

No wonder it was retired 12 years ago. Either that, or people see I'm the host and are like, "Ugh. I was going to enter, but nevermind.":hit

Sorry! Never heard of it. I've only been here 5 years! I'll go check it out. ❤️

I saw it but I don't have a brooder set up at the moment. I'll need to go digging back through photos from previous years on the off-chance I have any that give a clear view of the actual brooder itself.

Hmm. Hold on. Maybe a try 2 of it in April or so, when people start buying more chicks? February is a bit cold for getting them and not many people will be thinking of brooders then.

I agree, it could be slow because we're still early in the season. But SOMEONE must have photos from previous years, right? Still, I'm hoping it runs at least through May. I think it's such a fun concept, and something that probably won't get featured too often (since we're not all reinventing our brooders each year).

Plus the most creative way I brood brand new chicks is also extremely hard to photograph well :p

Thing is, if I had chicks and didn't know this contest was going to be a thing, I don't think I would do a creative brooder. Maybe, if the contest is placed more up-front now that's it's closer to chick season, it'll get people to take photos for it.
