(Wait, isn't it Gray who found them? Or am I wrong?)

Summer yelped with joy, rushing towards him. "Kind of!" She cried, licking his face. "But, Faolen is hurt! He broke a paw." he motioned toward her brother, who stood, blood caked around his paw, but a large smile on his face.

Senkah padded into her den, curling up on her soft mossy nest. The nippy draft that blew in through the lichen that draped over the entrance signaled the coming of a frost that night, and the dark clouds above promised at least sleet. Senkah shivered, and not just from the cold. Snow storms always brought back bad memories. She looked up longingly at the sky; the first hint of emotion that she had shown in moons. "Why?" She whispered, her voice barely audible.

Chayton froze stiffly, a pang of grief and guilt surging through him. Why is she asking me? Oh wait, I know, she's has more guts than I do. He thought, heaving a sigh. Why had he not asked sooner? He loved her so very much, why was it so hard? Shouldn't he just say 'yes, I'll be your mate'? Why wasn't he saying it?!

Scarlet nodded, her eyes tired, but sparkling. She turned, and laid down, licking her sore, tired paws. then, a funny thought hit her. I'm helping other wolves have pups, when I haven't even had some of my own! She chuckled, her tail swishing lightly.

Nike's dark, muscular figure appeared at the entrance, a large, but skinny rabbit in his jaws. "Senkah." He greeted, his voice deep and loving, dipping his head. This was his typical greeting to her, knowing if he said or did anything more, she could become angry. He set the rabbit beside her, and then settled into his own nest. His dark brown eyes gazed out of the den, deep in thought.

Gray smiled, sorta, happy to have found them. "We need to get back to the dens." He said, he had heard their father's howl, and knew Tala had been in bad shape, and feared that the sadnees in the howl had meant the worst.

Nikki's ears fell. "Sorry," she murmured, avoiding his gaze and tucking her nose under her paws.

Wind touched her shoulder with his tail, giving her a lick on the cheek before going to check on Nikki.

Senkah used a paw to drag the rabbit in front of her, but she didn't eat. "Why did I ever give you up?" She murmured, looking at the sky. "That was the biggest mistake of my life. I would bring you back to me for anything in the world.... You can visit us any time you like, hunt on our territory and eat our prey to your heart's content..." Looking closely, one could see that tears fell from her face in a steady stream.

Chayton was snapped out of his scolding thoughts at the sound of her voice. His heart fell with a thud, and he scooted closer to her, tucking his nose in her fur. "No, don't be." He murmured, his voice low and throaty.

Scarlet smiled, watching him go. She couldn't wait for their pups to be born, but in a way, she could wait. Ruffling out her fur, she gazed out at the forest, feeling the chilly breeze blow by.

Nike's ears flicked forward, his brown eyes soft and loving. "Senkah?" He murmured, not daring to get closer.

Nikki said nothing, and didn't move.

Senkah snapped out of her thoughts. "Yeah, Nike?"
