The next day, Lightning padded out of her den, looking up at the sky and breathing in the fresh air. "It'll rain soon," she murmured, noticing the dark clouds.

Elan padded up, his muzzle bright red with blood. His own. He sneezed, spewing blood on the melting snow.

Mari stiffly shoved the pups towards the den, nipping at their tails. "Hurry, hurry." She whispered.

Once they were inside she came back out, her hackles bristled.

Venus stuck her head out to watch.

Aki didn't want to leave the pups alone, but they would need to appear strong if there was a challenger. "Mari?" His words an unspoken question, wondering if she was coming.

"Yeah, stupid bear." Elan snarled. "I caught a rabbit for you and the pups, but the stupid thing wouldn't even try to catch his own meal. Cut my nose pretty bad." He laughed, blood dribbling from his nose.

aki rushed upon the border. In the distance he saw a she-wolf, sitting in the open. "Who are you?" He snarled, hidden by the shadows.

Willowwind jumped to her feet, snarling she eyed the forest, "Who's there?" Her fur bristled, making her look large.

Lupus snarled, "We are river pack." He barked, he stood several feet to the left of Aki, standing in the shadow of a tree. "What do you want?" He snapped.

Willowwind turned snarling. "nothing." She growled, confused, she didn't understand why these wolves were harassing her.
