Senkah looked into his eyes gratefully. Despite her madness, he had perservered. Many other male wolves would have left her flat out.

Fire started to call a greeting to her, then stopped himself. "You're chasing your own tail, Sunfire," he muttered.
Nike smiled, wrapping his neck around her's. He breathed in her scent, and sighed.

Mist, hearing a voice, spun around. She scanned the forest with her gray eyes, then spotted Fire. A broad, unusually bright smile washed over her face, then disappeared after a few moments. She dropped her ears again and scampered off to the river. "Stupid Mist!" she muttered angrily to herself. "Now Breeze will surely get on me!"

Senkah nuzzled him.

"Mist?" Fire called almost involunarily, before smacking his nose with a paw. "You idiot, Fire!"

"C'mon." Nike said, playfully bounding over to their den. "I have something for you."

Mist's head shot up, she tucked her tail and padded over. "Yes?" she asked, her face red.

Fire bit his lip.

"I c-can't-t have p-pup-ps." Sierra whimpered, looking away.

Before he could stop himself, he felt his body jerk away from her, his eyes wide with shock, sadness and pain. The words echoed in his head, as a pang twisted his heart. He knew he need to say something, to comfort her, tell her it was alright, but he didn't, he couldn't words to form.

Starling's pelt bristled with fear. He opened his mouth to say something, then decided not to. Starling turned and started to run. His nerves had gotten the best of him. Again.

Beo snarled, and started to give chase. "Let it go!" Willow barked.
Beo slowed to a trot and then stopped staring into the forest before lopping back to Willow.

Nike bounded inside their den, holding a flower in his teeth. It was a wild rose, and was a lovely peach color. "Here.. found it this morning." he said.

Mist looked down, embarrassed. Maybe he didn't call me. She thought.

Senkah smiled from ear to ear. "Aw, thank you Nike!"

"Iloveyou," he blurted out. His eyes widened, you dunce! He thought to himself, getting up and running away.

Starling growled to himself. Now what was he going to do? With a soft sigh, he started to trot toward Thunderpack's land.

(Aw..!)

Mist's eyes widened. She watched him go, frozen stiff. Then, like ice breaking, she bolted after him. "Fire! Wait!" she called.
