"Yup." Zero jumped down from the boulder. Her paws absorbed the shock of the fall, and she resumed her walk at a brisk pace. She followed the scents to locate Pinepack's densite, and padded over to the alpha rock. Wherever the alphas were, they weren't in their den. "They aren't here," she murmured to Wildfire. She climbed up onto the rock... and howled to announce her claiming of the pack.

Wildfire let out a long, deep howl. It was a howl that let everybody in earshot know that he was exerting his dominance... and challenging the current alphas. He bumped his shoulder with Zero's, making low, affectionate rumbles.

Zero broke off her howl. She gave him a small nuzzle, brushing her slate gray fur against his. "We've been howling for at least five minutes, and the alphas still haven't responded. Should we just go, and claim the densite ourselves?"

Wildfire poked his head into several dens. He was impressed. He liked the territory, and the densite. All ours, he thought with a wide, triumphant grin.
After a few moments of doting over the alpha's den, he joined Zero on the rock.
 
Kylee trotted back to camp, relieved to be back. She dropped the rabbit as soon as she noticed the two strangers in their territory, and flung herself towards them, though she had little fighting experience.

Zero broke off her howl and glowered down at Azar. Her stance was high and dominant... something that would take some getting used to. "You don't have a choice. If your alphas don't come back, or if they lose our challenge, by the pack code you will submit to us or be gone."
