runaway duck

I had the most beautiful duck, named UGG Lee, last week he ran away from home. I know where he is but the people in the rv park are feeding him and he will no longer come when called. i really want him back since its almost breeding season. Feona will miss him as I do. any suggestions.

I can outrun my ducks ive had to catch a couple before there not that fast

Get a dip net mabye? Or try and corner him into a fence

Lots of feed and a net. Anything he likes an extra amount? Bribe him to come closer, catch him with a net and once you get him home, clip his wings so he can’t fly away! Good luck getting UGG Lee home. Keep us updated!

See if anyone at the RV park is his favorite, ask that person to help catch YOUR boy and when you get him, clip his wings as suggested plus I would keep him pen with your girls for a while ...

Def pen or keep behind a fence once you get him home not only to keep him from going back for handouts but for his own protection from Predators he may encounter.

A net and go get him. Lock him up for awhile too. Clipping his wings helps if he is flying over to the RV park?

I had an experience like this recently.

I have eight ducks that I got as babies. I started to think they were all hens so I bought a drake and a hen from another flock. I let them all out to free range. They all stayed together the entire day. When night fall came my eight original ducks put themselves up in the coop. The other two ducks disappeared. I think they tried to go back to their original home. It was just weird though. They stayed with the rest of my ducks all day. I think I seen them all together around 7pm. I’m guessing I’ll never see those ducks again and I’m guessing they were eaten by wild animals.

In hindsight I probably should have given the ducks more time to develop Stockholm syndrome before letting them out to free range.
