They do, don't they? Poor peeps! But they seem to be settling in now; they've figured out where the food and water is (the sticker on the side of the food dispenser is a source of confusion that defies all attempts to eat it) and they're napping.

I did! They were shipped special from McMurray Hatchery, and they arrived peppy and peepy Ezri and Impa (the yellow ones) are a bit more feisty than Zoe, but she's eating and drinking really well, so I think she just needs to strengthen up her legs a bit. There's brewers yeast in their food, so that should help!

Haha, I didn't know before either, so I got my first group from a local backyard breeder. I don't regret it - I love them all to pieces - but the ones I got shipped from the professional hatchery are already obviously WAY higher-quality.
Sorry, I'm not a huge fan of chickens (the ones we had growing up were jerks) so I don't really know anything about their nutritional needs...

They used to follow me around pecking and clawing at my feet when I went to feed them! I don't know why they were so salty all the time, and I know not all chickens are that way, but it kind of put me off of them. I love my ducks though!

Today's video and pictures are from nap time. Ezri and Zoe are OUT, but Impa keeps fidgeting and waking them back up

I switched to a red brooding light so it doesn't keep them awake at night, but it messes with my baby pictures! I put a sepia filter over them so they weren't just a big orange blur.
