Good news, qwackers!

Someone has asked what week-old runners look like, since they are more used to larger breeds. Here are photos of my runners at eight days old. Not award-winning, but one can get an idea of scale from the feeders and waterers.








This is just before we moved out, into Brooder II.

It was getting a little cramped in here!

The largest tote you can find, or someone bought one of those deck storage containers, they are pretty pricey but at least you wouldn't have to move them but once and that would be to their permanent place when old enough.

Hmm that's a good idea miss Lydia thanks. Think there's a cheap garden storage box on sale down the road, maybe I'll have a look. What's a tote though!? Over here a tote is a type of shopping bag, don't think they'd like that much haha!

Haha! Over here a tote can be a shopping bag or in this case one of those plastic storage containers that have the snap on lids! A large dog kennel works great too!

Ohhh that makes a little more sense! Yeh I had looked at a few storage boxes but they were either not tall enough to keep them in or not enough floor space. The one I did find was too flimsy and thought it may melt!

Hopefully I'll get to join this club in a couple weeks. I'm expecting some runners from a nearby hatchery at the end of this month. I'd love to find some from a local backyard breeder, though! Anyone know anyone with runners near East TN or N Georgia?
