Is algae bad for ducks to have it in there drinking containers? Its healthy algae its green.

I've had this happen before but haven't had any major health issues from it. When it happens though, I try to do a good cleaning of their water containers. Also, ACV in the water is good to keep it out, especially in the warm weather.

great pictures. Funny

OK thanks.

You're using the white and red waterers too, aren't you? Those are worse about getting algae in them for some reason and they can be hard to clean too. We used to use those waterers but for us, they ended up not working for our ducks. Now, we just use buckets for everyone--including our chickens and are in the process of working on a different water solution that will hopefully work better. Water solutions have been one thing we have struggled with the most especially with ducks. Lol. You know how they love to splash and play in it and dirty it up.

Mischievouslady, I have a total of 47 ducks and 2 geese. Pekins, Runners, Silver Welsh Harlequins and blue/black Sweedish. Including 14 4 month old Pekins which I need to rehome. Im in southeast Arkansas. What part of Arkansas are you in?

Hey guys,
I'm a fairly recent runner duck owner. I adopted 2 drake brothers as pets when they were 2-3 months old. They love each other! And I love them so much that I want to adopt maybe 2 more drakes. Has anyone had experience with raising a drake only flock? I don't have the room for lots of little ducklings so don't really want ducks.
do you not want eggs to eat? I have ducks and drakes, so i do not have experience on drake only flock, sorry. i was just curious about the eggs ducks will provide.

my geese pool looks like the water as blood in it and there is no cuts on them
what color is your soil? what have you fed them lately, watermelon? what kinds of flowers and plants do you have around the yard? just trying to think of things they may have gotten into. do you have ducks that are just starting to lay eggs? maybe one is young and tore her vent? thinking, thinking, thinking???

Not really interested in eating eggs. Just want the drakes for the pest control abilities and as pets.
I was concerned about have lots of drakes and them getting into fights and killing each other. Can they kill each other?
