Just ordered 10 runner ducklings from metzer farms. Im so excited to get them! They are planned to ship march 6th
4- fawn and white
2-black
2-blue
2- chocolate
All sexed females.
Does anyone else have any from metzer farms?

@Tevyes Dad mine are from ducks from Metzers stock, I got eggs last year and my Muscovy's hatched them. Love my Runners.

All my babies (except 2) are from Metzer directly (which is why I don't have a lovely silver runner like Miss Lydia. You would have to breed them out of blue runners since Metzer uses silvers to make their blues, but doesn't sell them.)

Hey, i just went way far back looking at everyones pictures and i believe i seen yours. All soo pretty. Im getting even more excited.
We had a real bad run of sick chicks this past couple months.
So we are starting freah with ducks only. Really looking forward to it.
We raised some ducklings last spring but ended up with way way to many boys and the 3 girls bothered the chickens constantly and we ended up selling them all.
I really enjoyed the ducklings and watching them in the pool and sprinklers.
They dont seem to stopped by bad weather either like chickens are

Good to know! Thanks . Did you order sexed ducklings? I read alot of reviews and seemed mostly good. I was curious how accurate their sexing is? I will have to go back and find your pictures

Yes, just do it, never got a wrong sex, they are very good at it.

This is the MAJOR reason I ordered from Metzer. You don't need a drake. If you think you need a drake, you don't. If you still think you need one, only 1, but 0 is better. If you intend to breed them, you may need a drake, but really only 1. That being said, with 15 total ducks I have 2. Tevye is wonderful, but he doesn't really know he's a drake. Kaine is constantly reminding me that duck tastes good and we could eliminate most flock problems over a nice meal, but we don't.

Sure do look forward to seeing your littles when you get them.

As for drakes my hatch had 4 I rehomed 3 and kept 1 and oh my gosh dh and I both love Snoop duck and the neatest thing of all my Muscovy drake doesn't mind him, actually I don't think my Muscovy drake knows they are ducks. lol
