*~*Runner Duck Club*~*

Moved my ducklings into the greenhouse, at 3 weeks they had outgrown the brooder (or my ability to clean the brooder as often or efficiently as they could mess it up).
This setup will be much easier to clean and will give them quite a bit more room. They seem to have settled in well.

It's amazing how fast they grow. they look very relaxed.

My little lone runner duckling was sick (non-contagious). So I just had to go to Tractor Supply on a late evening run for medicine.

At TSC I saw a duckling (right) that looked almost like an Appleyard duckling, except that it has a black undercoat. Very strange. They didn't know what breed it was. It was also 8:00, closing time. However, this duckling happens to be very quick and athletic. It jumped right into my cart. Followed by a slightly darker friend (left)who looks like a cross between an Appleyard and my duckling. Which is, of course, impossible. But they were both happy to jump out of the cart again once I reached my car.

I put the two new ducklings in with my sick duckling. She (?) weighed 50 grams. They weighed 70 grams. It worked well.

Now it is three days later. The two TSC dinosaurs now weigh 150 grams. She still weighs 50 grams, as her illness is preventing weight gain at this time. They tower over her.

She, of course, is the boss. She calls and they both come running. She heads off in the grass, and they rush to follow her. They don't even question her orders. They are simply anxious to obey. It is the funniest thing!

That is funny. Our TSC (Poolesville MD) had Khaki Campbells, not like your little ones.
There are no bad ducks though, best of luck. I hope your first is doing better.

X2!! That is why I don't go to TSC during chick days. My cart would be full of tiny little ducklings and chicks.

Helllo everyone,
I have a few runners, but I'm looking for advice on one of my hens and her coloring. I can't seem to find any others like her on the internet.
400

Would she be considered a silver, gray, or blue and white runner?
Thanks.

She looks taupe and white in the pic. What are the color of her parents.

Unfortunately, I do not know what color her parents were. She is not out of my flock. I bought her from some people, who got her from other people. I think that she's pretty and like her coloring.
