*~*Runner Duck Club*~*

Oh my gosh they are gorgeous. My little blue is so white now I'll have to get an updated pic of her. Love Fawn an Whites too :love
Those crazy blues are almost like a different breed; quite sassy and loud! The new fawns are also very lively. Maybe it's just a duck dynamic thing when you introduce younger ducks to an established flock. Very pleased with how the two flocks became one. 🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🐢🦆🐢🐢🦆🦆

I think Runners are so accepting of other Runners it's amazing. I've never had any problems introducing young to an established flock. I have 2 Buff females who hatched with my original Runners in 2016 which also think they are Runners. They are sure a joy to have. My other breed is Muscovy and although they tolerate the Runners they have never hung out together. It's like two clans. I hope to get a few more Fawn An white females this spring. This time of year they are so talkative too. Maybe changes in daylight Or getting ready to start back up laying. This is the longest mine have ever gone with out laying since early Oct I am pretty sure. Hopefully eggs again soon.

Hello from the Isle of Wight. We got six eight week old black(ish) runners a couple of weeks ago. They're in an enclosed run at the moment, because the UK is under avian flu lockdown.

Because our ground is so wet they're on a wooden 'raft' covered with woodchip, fenced and netted, with a home-built hut placed next to the outside bit.

They're not very friendly at the moment, but they're runners, so I was prepared for them to be nervous anyway. They are very good at putting themselves away at night, which is great.

We appear to have three drakes and three ducks, which is OK for now.

I last had runners about 20 years ago and I'm loving having them again. Hope to expand the flock through the year, as we live on a woodland campsite and I suspect visitors will like them (not as much as I do though)

One of the photos is them enjoying some butternut squash enrichment, which only took them a couple of hours to stop panicing about and then get on with eating!
