For many years I've wanted Runner ducks. I just love they way they look. My heart melts when my babies run after me!

Having a cuddly snooze, I love patting their feet when they lay this way.

Adorable!!

I need to stop looking at this thread... I have an order for more runner ducks from Holderreads already filled out, I just haven't signed the check and mailed it in yet... You are making it very hard for me to resist that temptation!!!

Haha! Perhaps these shots will seal the deal... I've posted them in other threads, but what the hell, I love showing Wayan and Ketut off!

This is Wayan, who I'm guessing is a girl.

This is Ketut who I'm suspecting is a boy.

Hi everyone! I have a question about my female runner laying eggs. I have been collecting eggs from my female and putting them in an incubator because I was told that runners were not broody. I just noticed when I went to collect her egg today that she has make a little indention in the straw to lay her egg in. Is this her making a nest? If so does this mean she might sit on the eggs herself or do all ducks make these little nests to lay eggs even though they don't plan on sitting on them?

Don't believe everything you hear. I have a first year layer with a nest right now.

Thanks for the pic!!  Is your girl sitting on her eggs regularly?   That's one pretty nest.

Fairly regular. It's been so cold here though I don't think anything is going to come of them, but we'll see. I'll try to get a pic of her tomorrow on the nest. She's managed to scrape up most of the straw from the house.
