Thank you ever so much. I started with the peafowl as kind of a lark, as my wife is from India and that is their national bird.Became somewhat enchanted with them and thought to get some more "practical" birds. Looking into it I fell in love with Runner ducks and my youngest son was impressed with African Geese we saw at a poultry show. So I got a few of both. THEY ARE AN ABSOLUTE JOY. Aside from having eggs, they are just a hoot to watch, absolute clowns of the barnyard. My new incubator should be showing up within a week so I'll be raising some more Runners. Can't wait to see what comes of the mix I have.

Runners are def the clowns of the yard. I am always laughing at their antics. I love how they never squabble and do everything as one. We had 2 Buff Orpington ducks hatch with our and they really think they are Runners too.
I am sure you will have some awesome ducklings from your adults.

I love Peas they are just so gorgeous like Royalty

And geese they are special 2 I also have them. But no peas no sure our across the river neighbors wouldn't appreciate the noise My geese can get loud enough.

Hi fellow runner lovers! Just wondering if our Blue Runner girls are going to be ok this winter? I read yesterday that they aren't very cold-hardy and we live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where winters can be a bit brutal. I'm wondering if there are any special precautions we should be taking for them?? Thank you <3

Mine were fine in Idaho, and even laid when the chickens wouldn't.

We're in the mountains of NC mine did great in winter and laid also but you want to give them places to hunker down behind and access to inside on really frigid days. Out of wind. Mine are getting ready to go into their 2nd winter here.
