I'm going to be getting 2 9-10 week old ducklings, one female and one male. I'm hoping the male is actually a male because the guy said it's still peeping while the female was quacking now. Anyway if it is definitely a male, I'd like to know color genetics. I plan on breeding the male to our Chocolate Runner, Duchess, next year.
The male is all black.
The female is grey/almost black.
Their mother is all black and Father is "Silver/Grey Marbled" as he put it.
But both ducklings are purebred and will have new younger siblings as soon as they hatch.
If I bred the black male to our Chocolate female, what % colors would the offspring be?
And no, the sister of the black male will not be kept with him. Both females will be kept with Colonel until I decide when to breed the male with Duchess. The male will be allowed to free range with everyone but under close supervision to ensure he doesn't get hurt by Colonel.
