Runner duck colors

I would like to know what color of light to medium weight ducks can I cross breed to get the most varied colored ducklings. I keep ducks as pets and want as much color variety as possible. Right now I have 2 silver welsh harlequins, 1 white duclair, 1 black runner (all female). Planning on getting a blue runner and fawn runner female. Open to any breed of drake that can provide the most color. Or other breed female that would help with this.

A Buff / Lilac drake x a Blue hen will give you the most color variation; 6 colors. Your White or Black hens would work pretty well, too, giving 4 colors each, but Blue is best.

Second best, Welsh / Khaki / any other Chocolate drake x a Blue hen for 4 colors.

I’m not sure you could get much color variation from a Fawn or Welsh hen.

Hmm, I’m not sure. Those runner colors may be harder to find. Easiest route would be going for a non-runner breed, like the Buff Orpington. Or if you really want a runner, I’d search around online for a Lilac one.

I can get a buff orpington drake. Would he breed with a blue runner? Or would a buff orpington hens and blue runner drake work better?

He’d breed with a Blue runner no problem. A Buff hen x Blue drake wouldn’t work the same genetically, actually.
