Hi! I set 12 today. 5 Blue Runner and 7 Pekin, not pure. Her drakes are Rouen, Khaki Campbells, Pekin and Cayuga. I've just finished 2 rounds of chicks, this will be a first for ducks. They're due to hatch April 6th I think.

Hopefully you won't mind newbie questions. I just learned about the mist and cool, I have so much research to do.Nice!
Oh, nice, I never mist my duck eggs (even though I should), but I give them a 10 minute cooldown everyday until lockdown.Hopefully you won't mind newbie questions. I just learned about the mist and cool, I have so much research to do.

what’s the science behind the 10 minute cool down or misting? I’ve never done this (though I’ve only incubated once before this).Oh, nice, I never mist my duck eggs (even though I should), but I give them a 10 minute cooldown everyday until lockdown.
The ten minute cooling is simulating a mother duck getting up from it's nest and going to drink and eat. And the misting is simulating a mother duck taking a swim and coming back to the nest while being wet. And, yes, it does improve hatch rates.what’s the science behind the 10 minute cool down or misting? I’ve never done this (though I’ve only incubated once before this).
does it give better hatch rates?
oh very interesting! I’ll have to look into this! The ten minute cooling is simulating a mother duck getting up from it's nest and going to drink and eat. And the misting is simulating a mother duck taking a swim and coming back to the nest while being wet. And, yes, it does improve hatch rates.
