Runner Duck Hatch-a-Long! 2021

p. s. thank you!
Let us know how everything goes during hatch when you get there!

I'm on day 11 and misted and cooled for 5 minutes today. I've never done this but thought I'd give it a try! I have 5 eggs out of 10 that were good.
4 weren't fertilized and 1 had a blood ring so all those were tossed last night.

okay guys, end of day 23 for incubator #1 and I can see shadowy movement in the air cells of the egg with the largest air cell. Didn't quite look like internal peep but I figured he is not far off. I am really concerned over that first clutch because of their high humidity throughout incubator and the other eggs still have such small air cells. I am pretty much freaking out now 1) because its so early 2) because the other eggs need dry air to loose moisture and I don't want to shrink wrap the early bird!

Okay so I panicked and moved the rest of the eggs to my smaller Janoel Bator and are running that incubator dryer, I figure as they start internally pipping maybe I can move them into the other Bator? Thoughts, suggestions *criticisms*???? HELP!

I can’t offer much help on the air cell, this is my first time incubating ducks. If they’re anything like chicken eggs, their air cell grows a ton during lockdown.

I pulled 3 today. Two quit sometime yesterday, not sure why. The other one I’d been watching for several days. Two blue runner eggs and one pekin. I haven’t been cooling and misting, maybe I should try. I have been on top of temp and humidity. I knew 100% hatch rate was unlikely but we had such a strong start!
