The Golden Cascade drake was beautiful, just no duck for him. It was a hatchery choice mix. They are supposed to be good layers, so some of his daughters might be a good mix.

He came from Sandhill Preservation. The pic on their website does them no justice. He was part of the Fall Duck assortment, 15 ducks for $30 + shipping. If you order just the Golden Cascades, they are $6.00 each, but I am thinking about it.
He was pretty big for a layer breed, about 5 pounds.

He needed a lot more ducks than I had! I would have at least 6 ducks per drake if I wanted to keep them.
