Runner Duck Mating season?

Is there a 'season' for mating, or is it a constant thing?

I added some runners to the flock, and the single drake is jumping on top of all of the ducks, all of the time, and they don't want it, plus some have old injuries that i don't want to be affected, so i wondered if this would be a passing thing each year, or if it was just constant

Sadly if its constant then he will have to go

Well last year my Runner drake was pretty crazy. Mating not only his females but the Muscovies toThis year he is just now 2 years old and what he does now is run a Muscovy down and stand on her no mating. Hard to tell you what your drake maybe like next year but usually during fall and winter it’s usually pretty quiet around here. You could always separate these young in’s from the older during worst part of breeding season I did that last year with mine

Mine mate all year long, except during molt.

Yep my Runners and Buffs mate all year round, but not at such a frantic pace as now.

Do your Muscovy mate all year round too @casportpony ? Mine stop late fall till early spring. Thank goodness. lol

Ducks have a mating season. Provide a kiddie pool for mating...If it bothers you?..Then get rid of him. I'm the opposite, I bred my Ducks so get excited everyday he breeds my Hens..
