Runner duckling assisted hatch....wry neck??

@Isaac 0 need to add?

The only thing I would add is, to gently exercise the neck back into place more than several times a day, sometimes ducklings like this didn't stem from a nutritional deficiency, but rather from a malposition during the incubation period which caused there neck to be pulled in such a way.

The good thing is with ducklings this young, if it is a nutritional deficiency you should be able to see improvement within a few hours/ days. If you don't, you need to start considering other problems.

It’s difficult for me to say the severity of the crook as I have never seen it before.....but he (could be a she) is a determined strong little duckling....and is eating and drinking and won’t stay out of the water dish...at first I was concerned about his balance but he is running around and trying to keep up with the big ones.....I will start on the vitamins etc and see how he goes....he was in an awkward position in the egg....but it is my first time hatching so in my eyes he looked awkward he couldn’t get out without help....ThankU so much for all of Ur help! 😃

If it isn’t a vitamin deficiency and it’s just that he is special.....as long as he is managing to eat and drink etc....could he still lead a normal life? 😱 he is climbing on top of the brooder heater and leaping off and has been to the toilet and eating and drinking brilliantly!

I think he could definitely live a normal life. I have a duck with scoliosis that is living a great life here. Not normal, per say, but she's very happy.

Yes he could be fine and lead a happy life. I had a duck with a similar issue. She was just weird. Developed badly. She got around just fine.
